NIGHT OPERATIONS

  1. Relinquishing the accouterments of comfort as well as burdening the senses with deprivation reveals an otherwise unexplored field of potential capabilities. Training in low or no light might not be the most preferred setting for maximum performance but by accepting and owning said conditions the same level of proficiency is more than possible. When exigent circumstances are the only option other than not training, the answer is simple. If we can do X, Y, or Z at night then we can surely do it in the presence of all of our senses and under the conditions we consider ideal. Night operations demand the most resilient and disciplined operators whose natural reaction is to transform adversity into philosophical advantage. With the comfort of preferences stuffed away in a little shoe box on a dark and dusty shelf, we stand ready to impose our will with the same vigor as the unstoppable forces of nature.
