each station has a 6 min. time cap with 3 min. rest between stations; complete required work in any rep scheme or format. any remaining time is additional rest, it is compiled to provide work time (i.e. station 1 is completed in 5:30, 2 in 4:00, and 3 in 5:50 then you have 2:40) at the final station below:
4) Perform any of the following movements accumulating as many points as possible:
155#
snatch = 5
thruster* = 4
clean & jerk = 3
squat clean = 2
*bonus: 5 thrusters in succesion is worth 25 points
score is points accumulated
nice work on this one turbo. the set up, subsequent scoring system, and opportunity to earn more time is really interesting. i think this scenario would be perfect for most competition settings. why others don't adopt a more dynamic approach to programming, i'll never understand. as always, thanks again for staying a thousand steps ahead of the masses.
ReplyDelete58 points (1:58 earned for the final round)
ReplyDeleteTraversing the dangers of a minefield is a boardwalk of faith. A ritual stroll through a strategic maze of anti-personnel devices designed to impede advancement and ruin a prospective warpath. Earth riddled with shape charges beckons the cumbersome footsteps of ill prepared ground-pounders sure to ignore the veiled warning of inherent danger. The likes of a misplaced tread culminating in the complete eradication of all preceding efforts. Fortunately, the 324th Regiment maintains constant demining operations, clearing safe passage for follow-on infantry.
Manual disarmament is the only approved method on this battleground. Calculation went a long way in preventing casualty and promoting extended time in the field. A distinct triggering device in each individual component made uniform disposal impossible. Selected methods were on the fly adaptations implemented by the technician, using personal capabilities as benchmark for success. Even with ample time to plot an approach (after all, I did program the workout), mistakes surfaced, understandably a consequence of preplanning in a state of naïve confidence. The trick here is to find the most efficient means to discard each obstacle, not necessarily the fastest. Spread loading application is necessary to procure time and points.
Clint, the stagnation that evolves from performing repetitive movements or working specific muscle groups can develop in formats. I’ve been doing this long enough that three rounds for time no longer sounds exciting. So, should “constantly varied” only apply to the means and not the method? Further research and trials will determine the presence of associated fitness benefits procured with unique formats, but it certainly clears a cluttered minefield of monotony.
Provocative point and counterpoint by my learned colleagues. Unfortunately overcoming the repetition-laden behavior dictated by our human nature requires more personal wherewithal than is available to the masses. When something "works" we tend to use it until captured by antiquity. We (at 324 industries) have only scratched the surface as we are tasked with not only defending humanity from the sorcery of repetition but also training ourselves to the highest degree possible. Our product must serve both purposes lest we lose fitness or risk alienating the populace. Alternating point and rear security positions while engaged in an eternal patrol is cumbersome but worth staving off final judgement until our number is called. Happy as we are to contend with the standard and sometimes frustrating 80/20 split in the population our product stands to strengthen as we contend to maintain our hide within the fortress of the minority. Crossing the demilitarized zone into greener pastures of profit requires getting your soul stamped at the border and in so doing begin fading into obscurity. Our place is in the field, hardened by the rigors of success and failure, immune to conjecture and the predictability of philosophical determinism.
