135# 95# 82 It's absolutely necessary that our training reveal our weaknesses, that we search for flaws, fissures, and breaches in our foundation, and that holes in our game become the focus of our programming. We can't program wods around our strengths for getting stronger in this area constitutes a weakness in another area, that is, the area we are ignoring. The philosophical question asks whether or not we have enough to go around or whether or not we can have our cake and eat it too. Is it better to ignore weaknesses so that strengths become so strong that they completely overshadow any defecit? I think the answer depends on the nature of the endeavor. If I were competing in the ironman and was the fastest cyclist in the world then I wouldn't put too much time into my swim, especially considering it is only 2.4 miles out of about 140 miles. In the world of the unknown we can't risk losing when our number is called. We have to be prepared for anything, strengths or weaknesses. The squat jumps were indicative of an imbalance in my programming. I prefer to move larger loads as opposed to doing girly exercises such as air squats but, in the oxidative world, they have value. I plan on doing this again soon in order to score > 100.
