  1. With diligent ascension 5x5 is a treat served fresh from the hurt locker. There were no formulas or percentages at work here, while certain target numbers loomed, actual loads were determined on the spot as a result of perceived capability. The numbers posted is the weight decided upon and completed for each set. My goal was to start low and test upper end performance on the last two efforts without fully compromising benefits of the first three sets. Surprisingly, everything moved seamlessly through 330#, each attempt evoking exertion, but not utter exhaustion. Maintaining four to five-minute rest intervals advocated proper recovery helping to thwart anticipatory anxiety surrounding the final bout. Five repetitions at 350# thrust personal capacity uncharted territory. The final repetition triggered knee-knocking vertigo, a sure sign of productivity.
