Yesterday's disparaging comments impugning the value of the k-bell have returned twofold in the form of a commonly debilitating condition sucking the precious life from my meathooks. Nonetheless, the question still remains. If anything, it was a force multiplier for today's rendezvous with volition. Training while at full strength provides a warm and fuzzy but myopic ego boost while subscribing to the belittling theme of sabotage, although frustrating, is an uncontested platform for discovery. By amputating the appendages upon which our strategy stands we are forced into efficiency lest we consider abject failure an option and succumb to slothery. The problem is always the same, only proposed within a different context. How do we keep going or, at the very least, maintain a respectable pace? For example, unless a certain degree of proficiency is achieved with the double under then one is confined to one velocity, i.e. warp speed. The truth, however, is that this movement is analogous to running. If we only utilized one speed then we wouldn't get too far before running out of gas, having to slow to a disappointing stop, wait to recover, and take off at warp speed again only to repeat. Extending or surviving the double under requires more efficiency and better pacing. On round seven I realized this and slowed down the rope; consequently, I was able to go farther on this set unbroken than previous sets of lower numbers. The lesson learned is that we shouldn't allow physical incapacitation to dictate the breadth of our experience. Embrace the first noble truth and start doling it out.
