PRELIMINARY PENANCE

3 min. intervals of each:

tabata bar holds w/ 20# vest
max rep pull-ups

-2 min. rest-

tabata 95# overhead hold
max rep 45# shoulder press

-2 min. rest-

tabata 45# squat hold (alternate between high bar back position and front rack)
max rep jump squats

tabata portion is conducted for 3 minutes or 6 six total intervals; 10 sec. transition, then max reps in 3 minutes.

score is total reps

    Make the simple more difficult. Take the critical components to each subsequent movement and add some resistance. Ability to work through fatigue in pursuit of the objective is a prerequisite for success. Why continually look for “fresh” results, fitness matters most when system parameters are already operating on overload. Functional training needs to account for environmental variables, stressing the body and mind, forcing performance under less than ideal conditions.

    -used 75# instead of 95# for tabata overhead holds

    felt like hip flexors were going to snap in half during tabata squat holds!
