With lactate levels pushing the upper limits and a Cori cycle that was probably made in China it was necessary to establish a reliable sense of speed. This can only be done through a known distance with precise measurements; hence, science meets intuition on the track. It's time to put the scale of perceived exertion back on the shelf and establish pace standards independent of the misguided emotional gyroscope that fills our perception full of beliefs instead of predetermined, user-ready capabilities. Every good cybernetic organism must abandon free will, empathy, and morality in order to function in accordance with the prime objective, i.e. conquering his or her own weakness and overcoming the machinations of their human counterparts. Meeting a standard, establishing protocols for training, and rectifying deficiencies require pure prescriptions, free from emotion and the sanctuary that lends refuge to the poor and timid souls who wade in the shallow end of shark infested waters. Cruise control establishes pace independent of terrain, time of day, and any other good reason to slow down. Fortitude does the same thing.

thanks for posting this type of work. i't's not something i'm normally inclined to do and seeing it here reminds me of the importance.

holding pace for the third mile wasn't doable this time around so i decided to shoot for a minimum of six minute pace on the 400's. ran a little over on the first and overcompensated on the second. that left me with the final effort of the day. decided to go "all out" to see what would happen to my speed after all of the previous work. a good day at the track.
