  1. What is there to write about this devilish and downtrodden 1/4 mile? Usually only the most innovative and technologically quixotic ideas warrant an obligatory delving into while the primitive caveman-like antics move farther from the collective conscious of curiosity. This morning's splendor revealed a parallel universe of progress whose direction contradicts the intuition of evolution. The unanswered question: Is it possible to move forward by going backwards? The blinding reality of enlightenment proves that, regardless of how painfully innovative our ideas, they're inert in comparison to the uncalculated demands of austerity. The clinical approach to progress provides a predictable and quantifiable result while fighting the foe of friction with no weaponry will kill you dead. The only thought/strategy imposed on this task was distance and tempo. Technique was impromptu, following nor breaking any rules and immune to points of performance.
The purpose of injecting a specific tempo was to establish order in a chaotic effort. This came after moving the mooring line about 120 mtrs to the starting line. Ten seconds into the heave and ATP stores were depleted, opening the flood gates of lactic acid and diminished power output. Each effort produced a different distance ranging from 5 to 10 feet, sometimes more but not frequently. Initiating each effort required a full throttle take off, firing and immediately exhausting all venturis. There are better ways of using this tool for a more precision effect but in so doing a certain caveman quality would've been lost. Resisting progress and accepting a task as it is requires a degree of both fortitude and malaise that is sure to end in chaotic combustion. Sometimes it's necessary to put down the protractor and pick up a hammer in order to create the necessary balance of universal disorder.
