PLACEMENT TEST

25 min. continuous running clock:

emom for minutes 1-5 perform:
hspu ascending reps 1-5

emom for minutes 6-10 perform:
20# weighted pull-ups ascending reps 6-10

emom for minutes 11-15 perform:
pull-ups ascending reps 11-15

emom for minutes 16-20 perform:
20# weighted push-ups ascending reps 16-20

emom for minutes 21-25 perform:
push-ups ascending reps 21-25

scoring:

1st min. of each emom = 1 pt.
2nd min. = 2 pts.
3rd min. = 3 pts.
4th min. = 4 pts.
5th min. = 5 pts.

each 5 min. emom completed is worth a total of 15 possible pts.

at failure within any 5 min. segment the highest min. completed and accumulated point value is the score; the athlete will rest the remainder of time in that segment and begin the next portion on the appropriate minute. example: failure to achieve 8 weighted pull-ups in the eighth min. correlates to 3 pts. (6 completed = 1 pt. + 7 completed = 2 pts) with the athlete starting pull-ups (unweighted) on the 11th min.

final score is cumulative points in 25 min.

  1. 15/15/15/15/10 = 70 pts.

Here at 324 Inc. we refuse to cook the books and grease executive pockets with hard labor for the sake of inflated egos or individual corporeal wealth. Rather, our business philosophy revolves around reinvestment, specifically, in the area of research and development. With stakeholder interest in mind, only the most potent formulas leave the proving grounds for dissemination. We stand whole-heartedly behind our product, building, testing, and utilizing the very same methods distributed to the end-user.

Today, emerging from the collective laboratory of the brain trust, an upper-body bonanza extending boundaries of the EMOM format. Five independent segments scored separately, but compiling collective damage. Actual difficulty was inversely related to immediate perception. While total repetitions are high (325 to be exact), rest is at a premium, enabling recurrent execution. Minutes expired and points accumulated without fault until the last minute. With the aggregate push-up count approaching 200 and only three seconds of rest, the 25th minute proved unattainable.

Note: Current equipment did not allow for weighted HSPUs, eliminating a seriously strapping task. In hindsight, the rep scheme for that movement should have been adjusted to compensate for a single iteration.

  2. 15/15/15/10/0 = 55
The transition from 20 to 21 was an exercise in futility. Prospects for success were dismal while operating in defcon 1. After reaching critical mass, doffing the vest made little to no difference in rep turnover; hence, a back to back doomsday surprise. Maximum readiness did little to stave off the imminent attack of abject failure.
Most placement tests are avoided by the weak minded who can't stomach the reality of their role or position in a certain endeavor. It's easier to avoid the answers to compelling questions that hang over our heads like the sword of Damocles. The milquetoast world is a happy place for the faint of heart but no place for the self-deprecating surgeons whose only goal is reconstruct their existence at any cost.
I went into this endeavor with a known breach in my hull. Confirmation and documentation now exist. Options are corrective action or dismissal of the task as unfair, unjust, or biased. These are also the only true options in most of life's tests. With the rising birth rate of anaspinalotomy (born without a spine or volunteering its removal) and the recent move to dilute, weaken, or demilitarize life's noteworthy challenges alternate options have taken shape such as lowering or abolishing the standard, weakening the strong to strengthen the weak, and demonizing standards as unreasonable moral judgements. Corrective action is probably a four letter word in most passive circles.
Keep your surgical activities to yourself lest some one, group, or government save you from yourself by removing your spine, reducing the threat, and making you an equal.
