  1. If you don’t have a wheelbarrow at your gym or training facility… Buy one. I’ve been toying with this idea for some time, just needed the right location in order to truly verify validity. When addressing utilitarian movements you won’t find anything better. To be honest, I underestimated the value and versatility. Even or uneven loads, varying terrain, short or long distance, core to extremity stability, grip, state of constant load bearing, and the list goes on.

For those training to improve real world performance in an operational environment, put this on your to do list. At times, advancements in kinesiology and human performance redirect our focus away from old fashion manual labor. Further distancing the required strengths needed to perform outside of a gymnasium. We look to machines, resistance bands, or the electric ab belt to supplement or substitute real work. Modern training techniques infuse the combination of efficiency and intensity to produce rapid results, and without a doubt have done so effectively. In certain cases, long-standing methods we’ve try so hard to antiquate better prepare the end user.

Old McDonald had something right on the farm, after 30 minutes with 100#... EI EI OH! The wheelbarrow will be back.
