Training for strength is one thing but training for strength endurance is another. My objective when using the ascending ladder or descending pyramid routine is to slowly drain the rich blood from the coffers until the climax is experienced on less than a full tank. The other rep schemes have their place but in order to emulate the reality of life's battles we have to increase the demands as we progress to subsequent levels. Getting used to operating on a partial to empty tank will mitigate the austerity of austere conditions. Yesterday's matches did a number on my grip so I initiated remedial training by using Vaseline tabata bar hangs. A liberal coating and plenty of failed attempts made appreciating friction much easier.
