We know that sleep deprivation has a negative effect on our metabolism and there isn't much we can do about it; however, the one way we can influence our metabolism is through our diet. As much as we think we deserve a cheeseburger or pizza because we've not only been up for almost 24 hrs but have been working for over 20 hours. This idea is the farthest from the truth. It is in critical times when we need to dial in our prescription and fine tune our ability to perform under stress. I ate as perfect as I could, which was probably more chemically sound than most diets under ideal circumstances. The attention required is a small price to pay for optimal performance. My diet allowed me to operate at a high level of performance with no peaks and vallies. I could've kept going for I don't know how long. Pizza and beer would've been nice but it would've done nothing but fatten me up for the kill. Learn to feed the machine, understand its nuances and fine tune it for optimal performance.
