set 21 complete This is one of the most unique movements in that it demands a level of focus and tenacity that mimics an epic battle of wills. How does one's volition stand against the rigor of gravity? Only the best combinations of sets, reps, and rest will extract both the good and evil from this movement. Light weight combined with other movements in an arbitrary rep scheme does less than splaying the movement open by progressing through various stages of compression cycles such as today's prescription. In so doing, the ultimate fight or final set was prefaced with both warm up and pre-exhaustion thereby eliciting a different result than the max effort. By numerically exploiting the movement it became abundantly clear that the weak link was, in fact, the weak link and not the prime movers, as they would be the culprits in a freshly executed max rep effort. The small muscles in the shoulder took a beating and demanded the injection of reason into continuation of the onslaught. Besides a temporal shift in the perception of time as it pertains to recuperation this progression proved an exercise in futility. With shoulder pain creeping in as the sets progressed and culminating on set 21, I voluntarily dumped the weight on set 24 wondering if I pushed it too far. Bar hangs and the swimmer's stretch helped to stay in the game. The pole is the most recent tool added to an already burgeoning tool box of doom. 30 pole flips in 7 min was a successful test run providing the 324 panel of imported judges with enough data to safely conclude its value. It's here to stay until it splits open upon impact. New movements and ideas are already on the assembly line and will be ready for public consumption shortly. Until then, other tools will be added, modified, and enhanced as the modern defenders of humanity continue their quest for world domination.
