The experimental approach afforded execution within strict guidelines of the C&J. Theoretically, the exhaustion of form still allows one to "muscle" the weight up if necessary whereas exhausting the muscles early will leave one empty, inert, and hopelessly desperate. Form is the first line of defense.
After careful calculations, the machine was programmed to perform six reps per minute with a goal of 18 total. Pace was smooth until the involuntary act of self-preservation robbed the pace of a few extra deep breath thereby compromising a complete 18th rep.
Each successive repetition dug a deeper grave on the blacktop. Each successive calorie burned, rep performed, or step taken was worse than the previous. Like Icarus, moving closer and closer to the noon sun, ignoring internal alarms, and digging an even deeper deficit there was no solace to be found in the elements. Finishing or quitting were the only two options. The manipulation of effort was futile.
The second evolution was misleading at best, inexplicably denying the predicted number of rounds and trapping velocity in the mire of molasses. The elements held a death grip on the ability to recuperate, choking the coolant from the body and robbing its ability to stave off the atmospheric blanket of humidity that would've made breathing through a straw a reprieve.
The final evolution was an exercise in overcoming obstacles in the way of maximizing distance. The undertaker in this horror film was played by the sled drag. At only 70#, it was still nearly impossible to employ the nitrous oxide and achieve cruise control. The sled is the carburetor's worst enemy robbing the precious oxygen from the chambers at an unsustainable rate. The two obstacles were too technically and numerically demanding to truly maximize the distance in seven minutes. The objective was to exploit the pull while using the obstacles as brief interludes, not rest stops on the highway to hell.
In addition to the fitness benefit the true product is the template that comes off the blacktop. Dialing the appropriate exercises, distances, times, and numbers is crucial to eliciting very specific results. Anyone watching should capitalize on our mistakes, refining, and producing a more precision tornado. Work for the sake of work isn't enough anymore. A occasional mindless day is crucial to maintaining sanity but the bulk of training should revolve around leaping over tall buildings, swinging from the clouds, shooting mind bullets, making mountains bow, and keeping the free world safe from predators.

  2. Coming to you again as your loyal soldier from Indiana, still feeding my desires for more 324, tombstone truly stuck out to me as a bright moment in my fitness. 23 reps of 155#, 12 rds of 3-6-9, 6 rds = 300 meters for a total count of 539 brought me to my knees and lifted me above the clouds at the same time. Although I have only posted on one other occasion, I still follow the 324 regimen without compromise, along with wods from my local cf gym (crossfit180.com) As I said before, I am hungry for your knowledge. Please keep it coming.
