    Programming starts by identifying an objective. This was designed as a test of endurance, mental and physical. Max rep efforts invade the fortitude factory of the brain. There’s always another repetition remaining until complete fatigue seizes the ground of even the most fortified mental stronghold. Sixty seconds of rest was chosen to ensure heavily diminished returns, opening the opportunity to fight for each additional tic mark.

    I’d warrant this prescription a success. After the first round, I was barely able to achieve half of the reps obtained in my opening bout. Rounds four and five, a battle to feel semi-competent. Training alone does not offer the feel good comparison of stacking stats against the competition. Here and now, this is personal pride.
