SNATCH PRACTICE

Self-diagnosis should be synonymous with skepticism. In a pervious existence, I ran around in excess of one year sporting a partially torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) as the result of an intrapersonal evaluation process recklessly gifting the intrinsic powers of magnetic resonance imaging and orthopedic medicine. Certain lessons can be painful; others will require surgical intervention. Nevertheless, today, I stepped to the bar devoid of the external guidance and objective analysis I’m so often accustom.

Without coaching or use of video, identifying deficiencies in a technically demanding movement is equivalent to attacking a Rubik’s Cube behind a blindfold. Shortcomings are not discerned mid-lift. Interpreted blunders come subsequent to missed attempts, the overabundance of prospective errors expanding exponentially with each gaffe. Progress halted with four tries at 210#. The inability to siphon relevant details through direct evidence or constructive critique only ensured endless remedies to an anonymous defect.
