Speaking of scraps, i took your advice and went to DRMO on base here and grabbed a couple tires, and a cargo net to build a harness for pulling tires/weight. I cut it up and added a carabiner. We will see how much weight it is still rated at after sitting in the desert sun for months. I might try and post a pic for comedic relief if nothing else. I really appreciate the offer of sending an H-harness, Mike, means a lot to get some help from the states.
Hit a brick wall yesterday after forgetting an important lesson about the desert: even with moderate weather the dry air will punish you with dehydration abruptly. Had a hard previous day of running stadiums, boxing, and doing one of your older workouts from a month ago, all while drinking the amount of water necessary to get by in FL.... not a great idea. Had an unplanned day off for that lack of judgement.
Today i got back into the program and did a workout from sherr: 21-15-9 of 135 lbs clean and press and L-pull-ups then finished it with a skill development of one legged deadlifts from your workout yesterday. Stayed at 135 lbs since my form and balance were so uncontrolled.
Thanks Mike, as always, for some great workout plans and general athletic advice.
Training in adverse conditions will only make you stronger. Reserve peak performance for peak conditions. Send me a pic of the final product (if it works). If there is a way to make it happen then other people should know about it. This is why I post pics and ideas. I think we should make more of our gear. We are too soft on the industry and allow them to push crap. They aren't as wrong as we are for buying it though. I'm testing a new slam ball that, if it works, cost $9, not $80. All (4) of the D-balls have popped. I'll never buy another one. Lesson learned. If it holds up I'll post the recipe.
I have three more experimental balls in the production phase. Give me some R&D time and I'll let you know what happens. I'm finished with D-ball though.

We are in the same boat with D-balls. Seems like a really flawed design for something that is intended to endure as much of a beating as it gives.
