  1. Cav I sort of used the same strategy, using wishful rowing and trying to squeak by with a sub 18 5k. The thing about this distance is that anything you haven't recovered from will manifest itself in the weak points of the body; thereby making 100 % effort difficult to maintain. My target pace dropped at about 3k. This machine is unforgiving and indiscriminate in doling out pure punishment.
The 97#er generally sits in the corner collecting dust and suffering from lack o' use. The occasional k-bell swing is all that I've managed to get from it. The one arm r k-bell swing has been a pure epiphany. I would like to experiment with more reps but any manipulation of the tool requires a tightness that has never been demanded from any other exercise and the insidious fatigue may increase the likelihood of injury. Every cell in my body was strapped and stifled, making it nearly impossible to relax the diaphragm and sneak in a breath of needed air. I can't wait to incorporate this lover of gravity into my program.
